Saturday

Mom,

Today I snuck an alfajor in my stomach. It was awesome! I haven't had one in like 2 or 3 years.

And then Giovanni went to his apresentação but he couldn't do anything with his friends because sadly he had pink eye. Poor him.

And then we went to Garrett's game and also sadly he lost 1-0 but he played really good. And dad said at the beginning of the game that the first play he saw Garrett play he looked like Rodrigo Moledo running.

And then we went to Paulinho's. Giovanni ate about 15 plates of food.

Miss you and love you.

Anderson

Me:

Gi woke up with pink eye.  Fun!

He wasn't that upset that he didn't, because of his pink eye, get to participate in the apresentação. We went and sat away from everyone to be safe. The first part was a magician and he was pretty good but Gi got bored about 10 minutes in and asked to go home.

Since he couldn't be around his friends because of his pink eye I told Stella that we were leaving. She gave Gi his Father's Day present to give to me. He was super excited. Can you tell which eye is messed up?

We also took a picture in front of the Sogipa Olympians before we left. Quigs was a little afraid, at first, of the giant picture of the three.

Garrett did play great. I think it was his best game ever as a zagueiro. The other team scored on a great falta.

While we waited at Garrett's game Gi started to whine about how hungry he was and how badly he wanted to go to Paulinho's. He showed me how upset he was and asked me to take pictures of each emotion.

This is, "I want to go home."

This is, "I'm hungry and want to go to Paulinho's." Anderson informed me that he "photo bombed" this photo. Thanks Aggies.

And this is, "I want to go home AND I'm hungry AND I want to go to Paulinho's."

Then, as always, he took over the camera.

Anderson has been dying for sagu every time we go to Paulinho's but they never have it. He went to talk to Paulinho today to find out what day they will have it. Paulinho asked him, "What day are you coming back because I will make sure I have it on that day." They agreed on next Saturday. Anderson was jacked.

This is what was left after Giovanni got through.

It doesn't even include the plate of beans and rice that Karen already took away. The damage? Plate of beans and rice, one and a half bife's, bowl of pasta and dessert. Guess he was kind of hungry.

Ricardo told me to keep Givanto away from everyone for three days. Not easy to keep him in the apartment, away from playing with and touching Anderson or Garrett's face as they wrestle. Also tough to keep him entertained inside when it's so hot and pretty outside.

Glad you guys made it safely to school. Ans is going to do great and have 100 new friends by Monday.

Love you guys

Dear mom,

Today i got a autograph from Fernanda Garay.
[And i got to see her gold medal.]

And by the way she is a voleyball player that won a GOLD medal.

It was really cool.

Here are some pics.

Me:

As you can imagine, Anderson was super jacked about getting Fernanda's autograph. He told me he was never going to wash that shirt again.

You'll be happy to know that he smelled her gold medal and, according to him, it smelled like Olympic gold.

Our lunch today was some of Bronwyn's sandwich's that she made for us.

Even though I got them a little "too done" on the bottom, no one was complaining and everyone ate them. We killed them all.  Thanks B!

Gi spent some time as a super hero today.

Bronwyn bought a bunch of Brasilian snacks to take with her so that you guys could eat them on the way to college. When we were in the line at the airport yesterday she said she thought she forgot to pack them.

Unfortunately, for you guys, she was right. We found them today. (Sorry about the Toblerone Ans and sorry about the Alfajor's, paçocas and peanuts Benay.)

Fortunately, for these guys, she was right. They already called dibs.

Here are a couple of Quigisms from today that I thought you'd like:

"Hey Dad, I dare you to eat a crocodile!"

"Hey Dad, my eyebrows smell like salsa."

Totally random car riding comments.

Chicken nuggets and Totosinho burgers for supper. Let the cholesterol games begin!

Tooth, Dida and B

Mom,

Today my tooth came out:

I took a picture with the goalie Dida:

Bronwyn made breakfast.

She made some biscuts.

Me:

I went to Sogipa when they opened this morning. It was almost 70 degrees. Can you believe that? It was close to 90 today. Bronwyn and I were talking the other day. This is definitely the warmest and best winter of our 12 winters here.

We enjoyed our two last, great home cooked meals by B before she got on the plane. She spoiled us over the last week but thankfully left us with a lot of frozen meals.

Gi wasn't too happy that she was leaving today (look at his picture above). He asked, on more than one occasion, why everyone was always leaving us and going to the airport. After taking Ans, you guys, Stephen, the Aggies and now B I think that's a valid question.

That question was usually followed by, "When is mom coming home?"

B had a pretty full last day with us.

She got some tv time in with Gi.......

....finished a project for you......

.....and even painted her toenails.

We took B to the airport about an hour before her flight left.

She got checked in and then was met with this.

Did I share about the Federal Police strike that kept us from picking up Gi's Brasilian passport last week?

They decided to hit the airport today. I asked the TAM guy how B was supposed to make her flight if she had to be in this line. He assured us it would be okay because we were there and checked in an hour before her flight and she would make it. As her flight time got closer they moved her, and about 10 other people from her flight, up to the front of the line.

The guy told us that they aren't hitting the airport every day. Yesterday they weren't there. Today they clogged up EVERYTHING.

On the plane she sat on the same row (one seat away) as Dida. She said he was super nice to everyone who asked for a photo or picture. That's the way he treated Anderson. I like him even more now.

She just called from São Paulo and said the strike is going on every day at their airport but the United lady told her they only start after 5:00 p.m. So she got the wrong day here and the wrong time there.

On the way home from soccer practice Anderson led us in the "Men" cheer about 10 times. He's jacked about the guy days to come.

The boys wound down the day by hanging out together and watching the Regular Show.
I just put them to bed. They were both worn out.

In Gi's prayer he thanked God for the trip to Disney World. This is becoming a nightly prayer routine.  He prays like it's already done and he knows the date.

Does he know something we don't? I hope so.

Be safe tomorrow. We are praying.

Love you.

Wednesday

Mom,

Today Bronwyn made cowboy calzones.

They were really good.

Brasil played today and won 3-0. Damião and Pato scored the goals.

And I already know what I want you to bring back. The soccer shoes that I told you about.

D'alessandro and Lucas shoes. Thats white with a green nike simble.

And for supper we ate pasteis. They were really good. I got a cheese and white chocolate one.

Miss you and love you. bye

Me:

I took B to your favorite breakfast place but.......

Don't cry.

But it turned out to be a blessing because we got to go to another good place to eat, talk to Silvio......

eat good food....

......and B got to hang out one last time with one of our most favorite people who, by the way, might be interested in training for a half marathon. He just started running again with Giovanni. You are his inspiration.

Tuesday

Mom,

Today i went to school and scored five goals in soccer.

And then vera came and made us yummy lunch.

And i went to soccer practice and played good.

And then i went home and played dress up star wars and tackle it with giovanni.

And then of course, bronwyn, dad and garrett got the hot dogs from the uruguaian guy and me and giovanni got yummy cheeseburgers from mcdonalds.

Here is Gi's blog:
jhhjhfuyuygh

Some stuff from me:

Here is your boy talking to you on the phone yesterday. Garrett tried to get a picture of him holding the phone to the tv so you could "see" what he was watching but he got busted.
Then he got upset with Garrett and said, "No cameras please! No cameras!"
Rest easy, Quigs still thinks he's the boss.

Funny Quigisms from today:

"I want some GSP dad." (We have no idea)

Coming out of the bathroom after brushing his teeth: "I got dibs on the cheese!" (Again, no idea)

I accidently moved his cookies that he had ready to take to school for his snack and he looked at me and said, "Don't you dare!"

On the way home from soccer he emphatically shot this out two times before anyone could answer: "SHEESH MARIA! WHEN IS MOM COMING HOME?" He wasn't happy with the answer and repeated that it needs to be 2 days instead of 15.

It seems like he might be missing you a little bit.

The highlight of my day may have been the best, most awesome blond moment B has ever had in her life during a conversation we had. I'll let her share with you when you pick her up on Friday.

Paulinho's

Mom,

Today we went to Paulinho's.
And I promised him that I would make a drawing for him the next time I come.

I had white sauce spaghetti and jello. And my favorite food......"rice balls." It was awesome!!

My stuff:

Paulinho and Karen sent hugs to you, Ans, Carys and "One Week!"

They also said they would make sure we are fed after B leaves on Thursday. I love those guys!

I'm pretty sure Gi liked the food as well.
Had an early start to the day as Anderson came into our room at 4:20 and said, "Dad! Dad! Open this for me please!"

It was a bottle of glue and he was doing a school project.

That's our boy!
