Tardy

If you've read this blog for any amount of time then you know that Carys is our free spirited, happy go lucky, not a care in the world child. We love that about her, but there are times when it gets her side-tracked.

I have to take 4 kids to 3 different schools around the city every day. We are supposed to leave our house around 7:10-7:15 every day. I then make the return trip at lunch time as schools only go half days here. I literally spend about 2 hours every day in the car just taking and picking up kids from school. I hit big traffic at both times because people are going to work, school, or lunch.

As you can imagine with our big family it doesn't always run smoothly in the mornings trying to hit that 7:10 mark. A lot of times I will see Carys just sitting around at 7:00-7:05. It's obvious her hair isn't brushed, room isn't clean, shoes aren't on, lunch isn't fixed, etc. and so we'll ask her if she's ready. She will immediately jump up and make the mad dash to do everything in 5 minutes. Maybe she got involved in Sponge Bob world, or just enjoyed looking at her Cheerios for an extra amount of time before eating them. Needless to say her carefree nature can cause some "irritable" moments with the rest of us in the mornings at times.

Yesterday, for some unexplained reason, she was ready on time. She had a little extra time before we had to leave. I think her own system was in a little bit of shock. Sitting and waiting for everyone else is not an option. So was does a 10 year old, free-spirited child do to pass the time while waiting on everyone else? She does this:That's our Carys.
