3 Weeks from today Bronwyn gets on a plane to move to Texas to start college.
We are excited about this new stage of her life.
She already has a roommate, her list of classes that she will be taking and our church family (from when we lived there in 2001-2002) letting us know that they are excited about her coming and are ready to take care of her. She is blessed so much already and she hasn't even gotten on campus.
I mentioned we are excited about everything that is to come in her college experience, and we are, but we will also, obviously, miss her. We've never lived as a family without our oldest child and it will be an adjustment not having her around but it is a natural part of parenting and we know she is a mature young woman and ready.
Some, however, are already having separation anxiety.
Anderson woke up this morning and asked how many more days until Bronwyn leaves for college. I told him 21. He got real sad and almost started to cry.
Bronwyn is our emotional daughter. She can easily cry at movies or books or stories that someone tells, etc. Anderson is our male version of Bronwyn. He can be pretty emotional.
About the time we were talking about how much time Bronwyn had left she woke up and came into the conversation. She saw his sadness and hugged and loved on him and told him how awesome Christmas was going to be when she comes home. Anderson started feeling better but it's going to be rough for him in three weeks.
He's going to miss his sister.
