Remember our marathon relay team from last week?
We found out last week that we finished in 8th place overall. Pretty good considering that there were 63 teams. Amazing really considering where these guys have come from.
I am very proud of our team. That these guys, who are in the process of being freed from crack and alcohol addiction, run with joy for the Lord.
Every time I run with these guys I'm reminded of a couple of verses.
Philipians 4:13 "For I can do everything through Christ, who gives me strength."
Timothy 4:7 "I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, and I have remained faithful."
These guys finished the race on Sunday and remained faithful.
We ask that you pray for these men, and the others who are at the rehab center, to finish strong. One thing we've learned is that our enemy is very smart. He has no problem trading one sinful addiction for another.
These men allow God to free them from the drug and alcohol addictions and then when some leave the chácara they find themselves dealing with a new sinful addiction which is so very common. Sex.
Sometimes this is worse because the culture does not frown upon premarital sex so we deal with a sin that some don't consider a sin.
Please pray for these young men and for those that ministry to them. That God would give them wisdom in helping and walking along side these guys as they battle our enemy.
