Bring a Friend Day-October

This past Sunday the house church that we are a part of had it's monthly bring a friend day. As you know, from our post yesterday, Sunday was a national holiday. We never know how many people to expect on holidays. God has taught us long ago to quit trying to expect a certain number on any given day. We are learning to be happy with whomever God brings.....even if it's "just" two people. We are also learning the true meaning of "where two are three are gathered in my name." God is teaching us that He can and usually does do powerful things through smaller intimate group times.

Sunday was no different. God blessed us with 5 visitors and we, as always, had a great time together. We had 3 countries represented on Sunday (Brasil, Germany and the United States).

We had great singing.
Benay gave a great lesson about kids and how God knows our name (Isaiah 49:14-16).
Eduardo (in the vest below), our brother from the chácara, gave an incredible testimony of God's power in his life. His mom and dad were there as well and his testimony had his mom in tears. The kids did a Kid's Day craft.
We ended our worship time together by our brother Luis Henrique(a man I met at Garrett's soccer school.....he's the one with a cross on his shirt) praying a blessing over all the kids.
We then spent some time fellowshipping together....... and eating lunch. We have fun together. It was a blessed day.

Wednesday, during Garrett's soccer practice, Luis and I spoke about how powerfully the Spirit moved during our time together on Sunday. Two months ago we didn't even know Luis and his family. Now he is part of our friend days (usually with his family) and his wife (a not yet Christian) is going on a women's retreat with Benay next weekend. God is good.

We praise God that He is completely transforming our thoughts of what church looks like as well as throwing out the window whatever "man made" ideas of "success" are in regards to truly being God's family.
