Working Woman

This is a picture I took of Bronwyn this morning (along with her cute little brother who, by the way, could be her twin ):Why are we showing a picture of her and why is today any different than any other day?

It started a couple of weeks ago. I took Bronwyn to 3 different language schools so that she could give them her resume.

For those that don't know, she graduated high school last December and could have entered college this year. She chose to put off college for one year and to stay here close to her family to get to know Giovanni better. She also wants to go to Africa next year for a few months to do some kind of mission work. Africa has been on her heart since she was a small child.

She wanted to work this year and make some money to help pay for her future college expenses.

Like I said, she hand delivered 3 resumes two weeks ago. While we were on vacation last week one of the language schools called her and asked if she could meet with them. She told them she was on vacation but could meet with the manager today.

I took her to her interview at 11:00 and she had the job by 11:45 (we actually think she had the job last week based on her phone conversations with the manager but it was made official today).

She then had a training session this afternoon for a couple of hours and came back with this work badge. It says "Boni.......Professor of English."Brasilians have an incredibly hard time saying Bronwyn so she has always gone by Bonni since we moved here. She gets her official badge tomorrow and we hope they spell her name with two n's.

Anyway, she came home for about thirty minutes after her training session and then I took her to teach her first class close to downtown.

Pretty amazing first day. She has been very excited today. She already has a schedule and is teaching 13 hours per week.

We've had lots of chances to pray together before each event today. Bronwyn realizes that this isn't just a way to make money. She knows that she is being called to be the Light to those around her in this new job. She has already had a conversation with her manager about us being missionaries and she found out that her manager's English teachers were also American missionaries.

God is already working. Please pray for God to bless Bronwyn in this new stage in her life.

Congratulations on the getting the job! I always see pictures of Giovanni and think that he looks just like "Bonni" did when she was a baby. Have fun with this new experience.
