One More Time

For the 2nd time in our team's history, and the 2nd time in the last 5 championships, our favorite sports team is the best soccer team in all of South America.

Big deal you say? You're right. It's not really a big deal. It's a huge deal.

Periodic fireworks have been going off around the city all day. Lots of cars are covered in Inter flags. Lots of houses and businesses have Inter flags hanging out their windows. Guys on motorcycles are riding with Inter flags tied around their necks and look like Superman capes as they flap in the wind. If you are wearing a team jersey today then other Inter fans will honk and wave at you and give you a thumbs up. For us, it's been a fun twenty four hours.

I've even had 3 Gremistas (the names of the fans of the super arch enemy and cross town rival of our team) congratulate me today. They may not like that we won but they appreciate what it means. They've won two South American championships themselves.

Garrett and I got in bed at 2:00 this morning, got up at 6:30 to take him to school and we've felt like we've been a step behind most of the day.

So, for those Inter fans in blog land (my girls, Pops, Sascha and the Aggies, among others), because of our tiredness we are going to have to make you wait for more details but for now these pictures should make you happy.
Like Anderson told our friend Jeff today, "It's good to be a Colorado isn't it?"

That is so awesome. I miss being in a country where everyone actually understands why you are excited all day long. Love you!
